The method
These are not conventional novels. They are five books of speculative biology written as declassified files. If you have not opened a volume yet, this page is the stance. The books are still the books.
The conventional explanation for the universality of monster folklore is comfortable. Independent cultures invented the same creature from shared psychological raw material. It predicts nothing. It cannot account for the specificity of silver, the four-hour allicin window, or a photoreceptor that fires at opposition surge.
The compilers treat the folklore as a distributed observational database. Individual reports are noisy. Aggregated across sufficient geographic and temporal diversity, a biological signal emerges. The method has precedent in the epidemiological reading of historical disease records. The RNA World hypothesis describes a stage of early Earth biochemistry for which no direct physical evidence survives, yet it is considered a legitimate scientific framework because it is internally consistent, externally plausible, and generates testable predictions. The Theory Series operates on identical principles.
No physical law is invented. Electrogenesis, neural parasitism, lentiviral integration, porphyrin photochemistry, galvanic electrochemistry of silver: all confirmed. What is novel is the assembly. The measure of success is not whether the conclusions are literally true. That question is for empirical investigation. The measure is whether they are logically coherent, biologically consistent, and capable of explaining the mythological data better than any alternative.
