The compilers
Five volumes. Five compilers. Each refers to themselves, and to every other, only as the compiler.
Volume V names, once, an organisation that distributes the documents: the Compilers. It is not described.
That volume's metadata reads COMPILER: DESIGNATED. INSTITUTIONAL AFFILIATION: None. The compiler of Volume V states that the compilers of the first four documents have not communicated with them at any point. They are not available for correspondence following submission.
The OVERLORD compiler records that the compilers of the source frameworks were not working for the Committee, the Quorum, or — as far as can be determined — the Bratja. They were working for the record.
The compilers of Volumes I and II regard their projects as a single investigation, and they note that the investigation is not yet complete.
The compilers were not asked to explain the arrangement. They have not.
The preceding document was received by the Compilers through a channel established for this purpose. The compiler arrived at this material independently. The Compilers consider this significant. The compiler is not available for amendment requests. The document is distributed as received.
Five designations
What each volume is willing to say

The Compiler
CUSTOS · Hunters in Theory
Operational history. A separate compiler. Carpathian lineage. The compiler's identity is itself part of the evidence. Dedicated to the ones who kept no records.
